From Supply Chains to Bike Chains: Teamwork and Community Service at Tecsys

As we move further into 2023, the spirit of teamwork and community service at Tecsys continues to thrive, even as the world around us evolves and our team has shifted to a remote-first working environment. The culture of camaraderie and community-mindedness that has been a hallmark of Tecsys for years has not only persisted but has grown stronger, proving to be a resilient force within the organization. 

Pedal for Kids: A Continuing Tradition 

One of the most prominent examples of this spirit is our involvement in the annual Pedal for Kids program. This year, just like in previous years, Tecsys employees mounted a custom bike and pedaled through the heart of Montreal, raising funds for the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Since its inception in 1999, Tecsys employees from the Montreal office have actively participated in this fundraising event, contributing to a total of over $100,000 raised for the cause to date. 

The Pedal for Kids program is more than just a fundraising event; it's a heartwarming initiative that brings together corporate and community teams to provide much-needed medical equipment, neonatal research, and specialized training for nurse practitioners. All these efforts are directed towards benefiting the province’s sickest babies, a cause that Tecsys is proud to support. 

Tecsys Gives Back: A Culture of Service 

The Pedal for Kids fundraiser is a cherished tradition at Tecsys, and the company stands proudly among other participating companies.  

Lan Phan, business analyst at Tecsys and one of the team leads for the Pedal for Kids initiative, comments, "I am grateful to my Tecsys colleagues who stand alongside me in recognizing the significance of hospitals that provide care for children in need. As a parent whose own son underwent two surgeries and received excellent care through the generosity of donors, I am committed to giving back to the community. Organizing the Tecsys Fundraising campaign to enhance the Montreal Children's Hospital's care is an honor and privilege. I extend my gratitude to everyone who participated, contributed, and supported us, as we come together to support the children in our community and recognize the foundation's important work.” 

Tecsys' commitment to community service extends beyond Pedal for Kids. The company has a long history of supporting initiatives such as Sun Youth, Operation: Santa Claus, Dans la Rue, and Youth Unlimited, all aimed at improving the well-being of children. These grassroots initiatives are deeply ingrained into the DNA of Tecsys employees, reflecting the company's focus on community efforts.
