Tecsys’ Maryah Merchant Wins 2022 Supply & Demand Chain Executive Women in Supply Chain Award
The 3rd annual Women in Supply Chain Award recognizes outstanding female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship and examples set a foundation for women in all levels of a company’s supply chain network.
Fort Atkinson, WI. Sept. 19, 2022 — Tecsys Inc. (TSX: TCS), an industry-leading supply chain management software company, is delighted to share that Maryah Merchant has been recognized by Supply & Demand Chain Executive as a winner of its 2022 Women in Supply Chain Award. For the past three years, this award has been recognizing the accomplishments of female supply chain leaders who have made distinguishable marks in the supply chain industry.
This year’s honorees include individuals and teams from software and service providers, consultancies and academia, trucking and transportation firms, professional development agencies, sourcing and procurement divisions, and more, all who have helped supply chain clients and the supply chain community at large prepare to meet many of today’s — and tomorrow’s — challenges.
Among this venerable list of winners is Maryah Merchant, who serves as Tecsys’ Product Marketing Manager for Distribution and possesses over two decades of experience in technology and the supply chain space. She began her career during the dot-com boom and has been submersed in the world of technology and digital transformation ever since. Prior to focusing in on supply chain, she cut her teeth at international software organizations, experiences which instilled in her systems-driven mindset that would prove highly beneficial to the myriad supply chain organizations that turn to her for insight and support today. Maryah is a frequent contributor to publications like SHD Logistics, panels, podcasts and has spent time educating and conversing with students focused on supply chain studies.
“It is an incredible honor to have been selected by Supply & Demand Chain Executive alongside such esteemed industry colleagues and changemakers,” says Maryah. “I love that my career allows me to work with various groups within supply chain, equipping organizations and people with the software, technology and innovation to overcome the supply chain challenges we face today and prepare for the future. And so, to be recognized as a torchbearer in my field by doing what I love is deeply humbling.”
Marina Mayer, editor-in-chief of Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics, adds: “When I launched this award three years ago, I was prepared for an uphill battle. I was envisioning a long road ahead in getting the supply chain industry educated enough as to why it was important to recognize women in the supply chain. But, this award, the winners and those who submitted nominations — both men and women — is a testament that supply chain organizations were already recognizing their female leaders; they just needed a better platform. This year, we received over 280 submissions. Almost 100 of those submissions came from men. I’m so proud of everyone who participated, both men and women. I’m proud to call these women mentors, role models and industry friends. I’m proud to interview them, support them and help promote their journey. And, I hope to see all of this year’s and past years’ winners at our upcoming Women in Supply Chain Forum.”
